Melissa & Nelson’s Civil Wedding: Providencia, Santiago
You know, I don’t like to get all sentimental in my blog posts, but when I went back and looked through these pictures I starting thinking to myself how cool it is that years down the road, Melissa and Nelson’s kids will see these photos?!? Nelson will explain to them the concept of the civil wedding in Chile and Melissa will tell them about her life as an expat living in Santiago in a sweet apartment with a pool on the roof. Seriously, these are the days they’re living right now, and these photos are the memories.
Anyways, snapping out of it…Melissa and Nelson’s civil ceremony was SO cute! The cake was really cool — I took so many pictures of it. The flowers were beautiful and the decorations all coordinated perfectly. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed and both Melissa and Nelson looked great and had a good time joking around and hanging out with their guests. This makes me think that their wedding (in just two months, in a vineyard at sunset — a photograher’s dream!) will be nothing short of amazing.
Now on to the photos…
Nelson is such a goof, he had everyone cracking up when he walked in and introduced himself to his bride to be.
While the guests waited for the celebration to get underway I snapped a few pictures of the cake.
The ceremony got started and they both got a little emotional but kept it together pretty well.
Close friends and family watched on.
With this shot I was trying some different processing styles out. I like the colors and moody feel.
The judge handed over the libreta familiar and made things official!
Nelson was so pumped he broke into dance and bear hugged his bride!
Kisses…
Crying (I’ll only post Melissa’s crying pics out of respect for Nelson’s manliness
)…
And then hugs all around…
The champagnazo, my favorite part of every wedding!!!
These pictures really show off their personalities so well. Melissa was acting all reserved and a little embarrassed as he told the story of how they met…but in the end he had her cracking up. The man knows how to put a smile on people’s faces.
I’ll leave you all with my two favorite shots of the night!

Sneak Peek: Melissa & Nelson, Civil Wedding, Providencia
More photos of Melissa and Nelson’s civil wedding held on a rooftop in Providencia, coming soon!
I loved this picture SO much that I did three version, hahaha! And then I couldn’t decide which to post so here they all are for the sneak peek.
For all the people out there who like more traditional photo editing:
A more vintage look:
This shot could be a promo for Pushing Daisies, haha, and I LOVE it. This one is by far my favorite…fantasy colors and textures!!! But, I understand they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, which is why, if I process something crazy like this I usually give the client a more “normal” version of the same photo.
Which version of processing do you like best?

Sneak Peek Boudoir Session: Emily
I did a boudoir session with Emily, my first time ever doing this kind of shoot, and it was so much fun! After doing on session, I’m hooked and I really hope I can get into doing more of these types of shoots in the future. I’m still editing Emily’s pictures but so far the photos are turning out absolutely beautiful! So here’s a quick sneak peek for you.
Expect the full session (or at least what’s suitable for the internet, hahaha!) to be uploaded soon. Also, in the next couple months I have a ton of great stuff coming up that I’m really excited about…a civil ceremony/boudoir/bridal session with a new client who just happens to be gorgeous and stylish (pretty much like everyone who contacts me — I know, it’s weird and coincidental). I also have an actual church wedding coming up, it’ll be my first time shooting an actual Catholic wedding, so I’m looking forward to that!
Honestly, I know I say this about a lot of the pictures I put on the blog, but this is one of my favorite pictures in the world. I love her hair falling over her eye and the mood that gives the picture. It’s sexy and mysterious and beautiful all at the same time!

Tamsin & Anibal’s Boda, Part II: Vina del Mar Y Valparaiso
I have a little more time to write now than I did for the first post of Tamsin and Anibal’s wedding. This event had special meaning for me since I’ve “known” Tamsin through our blogs even before she moved to Chile! We met when she had probably been here for only 2 weeks and I had heard so much about Anibal before I ever got to meet him in person. Tamsin is head over heels in love with him and he worships the ground she walks upon! It’s true, anyone who has ever seen them together knows how crazy about each other they are. So I was pumped to photograph their wedding and challenge myself to making sure all that passion translates through in the pictures. It wasn’t hard. :) These two are naturals in front of the camera and doesn’t hurt that Tamsin looks like a model. The girl doesn’t have a bad angle!
Tamsin and Anibal, I wish you both so much happiness in this new life you’re starting together! I hope you love the photos! Besos, K.
A few more shots of Tam looking gorgeous at the Sheraton Miramar in Vina del Mar.
Here she comes with her dad.
Anibal sees his bride for the first time before the ceremony gets underway.
After the rings they could finally kiss each other as man and wife!
Then it was time to toast and get the party started!
I love this shot of the Dads shaking hands!
The cake was delicious!
I thought it was really cool and unique to have the first dance while it was still light out. And it made for great pictures too.
Tamsin’s dad gave a great speech…and I was amazed by how multi-lingual he and all of Tamsin’s family is!
And then Anibal gave such a sweet toast to Tamsin that it brought tears to my eyes.
I’ll end this post with some of the shots we got in between the ceremony and dinner. We had plenty of time to go out to some great locations in the Vina/Valpo area.
Everywhere we went people were staring at Tamsin because of how beautiful she looked. Crowds would watch us and at one point some people even came up and took a picture with her and Anibal!
Here are my favorite shots of the night, and actually some of these are definitely going down in my top ten favorite shots EVER list.
Question for anyone reading this post…do you like vertical photos bigger or do you prefer them small and in storyboards like the way I did most in this post? I know when they’re larger you end up having to scroll down because the whole photo doesn’t fit on the page so I wanted to try something different. What do you think?

Tamsin & Anibal’s Wedding: Valparaiso/Vina del Mar
This wedding felt so free spirited and beautiful, just like Tamsin herself. The entire event was a joy to photograph…from the setting in coastal Chile (Vina del Mar/Valparaiso area), to the people, to the details. It’s late and I’m probably incoherent right now so I’ll stop rambling and get to the photos. These are only the first of many, so be on the lookout for another post within the next couple of day!
Anibal catches a glimpse of himself looking sharp in the mirror.
While Anibal got himself ready at home, Tamsin was living the life of luxury over at the Sheraton, Miramar, a gorgeous hotel right on the water!
Before she got dressed, the ladies toasted the bride to be.
Tamsin’s dress awaited her.
Her tiara was so cute!
Ummm, seriously!?! WOW.
After taking advantage of all the balcony had to offer, Tamsin’s mom helped us move the photoshoot downstairs.
These last three shots are my favorites…in this post
Stay tuned for more, coming soon!
FYI, brides, Tamsin had everything before the wedding planned so that she had more than enough time to get ready before the ceremony, leaving us with 45 minutes to do a mini-bridal session with her. Having that long is REALLY helpful to allow us to get tons of great pictures but not have to rush through everything.

Getting to Know You Session: Emily and Rodolfo, Algarrobo
I have no time, I’m on my way out the door to go shoot a wedding! So I want to get this post up before I have a whole different set of pictures to edit.
Here goes…the rest of Emily and Rodolfo’s “Getting to Know You,” session in Algarrobo. Oh my gosh, I LOVE shooting at the beach. If you can’t tell, I went crazy with textures and with silhouette shots for this shoot!
Through the window, the voyeur feel of this is so cool.
I am in looooooooove with this shot! I think this might be one of my all time favorites!!!
